I just did a quick google search for NZ hunting license fees when someone earlier said the cost wasn't that much and that's what popped up on their fish and game website. Only if you hunt birds do you have to buy a hunting license and it's around $80 something NZD

It’s free for EVERYONE to hunt in NZ. Not sure what the $180 is for.
