Summer 2024 saw angry locals attack tourists with toy water pistols to protest about being squeezed out of their own city. Now the city is concerned it has a reputation for hostility to the visitors it still needs to keep its economy alive.

My grandfather landed in Big Sandy in 1947 after getting a job for the GNR. Lived there and Culbertson for 54 years before he died.

He’d get red in the face and pound in the table anytime someone would voice support for MT not having a sales tax.

Property Taxes and the old Montana Power Company selling all of our dams under the guise of lower prices to the consumer cause the veins to pop out of my old man’s head. It’s a sight to see !
