New to the forum but wanted to say hello from the big sky state. Along with asking the question of do you guys replace your bow grip and if you do what do you replace it with? I have been doing some digging and have seen everything from athletic tape to paracord to some after market grips. I am just curious as to what everyone might recommend. Thanks for your time. Almost forgot I shoot a mission ballistic bow.

I have had a custom grip on my 97 Mathews Z-Light for many years.
It is a slimline laminated walnut crafted by Loesch Enterprises and it is beautiful and the slim throat helps (me at least ) to not torque my bow.
It is 2 halves that are screwed together through the opening in the riser.
The Mathews factory grips were all very chunky back then ad they would crack straight up the back where your palm held the bow.
I tried to find them in a search and was led to bowgrips.com , however this did not help me.
If you can get a contact to them you would be very happy with the product, I really shot better with the slim line grip and the wood is a beautiful grey laminate.

Thank you 10Dogs for the info and I got to looking at my grip last night and to my slight disappointment it actually poped off with only the pressure of one finger on it. After it pretty much fell off I looked at how it was attached and it was barely on there with about two dabs of super glue (not impressed) so now I have to find me a replacement so thank you for the lead.

I prefer a thin grip. Shot Mathews for a few years and never did like their bulky wood grip. Same goes for some of the Hoyts. My favorite is the PSE grip, fits me best. Everyone likes a different feel.

Mathews has a new "Focus" grip now. I just bought a bow with it and it definitely feels different than their old wood grip. I've only shot about 20 shots with it and I'm starting to adjust and I may actually like it better. I have not personally used one but I've seen a lot of guys recommend the Shrewd brand of grips.

They're made to pop off. A little silicone when you put it back on will hold it just fine. Most bows now only come with side plates.
That's good to know because I was at first pretty disappointed when it popped of with little to no pressure. And I was looking at it and was kind of trying to think of a way to maybe try and put the two piece instead of the bulkier one piece. But thank you guys for the help so far it has been a huge help.
