the object is to keep it dry.Any scene in the rain with an 1800s muzzleloader. Wet powder never fires.
I see what you did therethe object is to keep it dry.
Recently re-watched and re-evaluated it. Now, not so impressed. As for what they passed for hunting? So bad. That "deer", actually was a NZ stag I think. The scene in Deer Hunter with the magnificent snow covered mountain in....Pennsylvania. Filmed in Washington, that scene, I believe.

Walked around that bison head prop a few times when I worked on the ranch where that portion was filmed.I always liked the bison in Dances With Wolves who hit the dirt face first, stone dead, the moment an arrow hit them.
Just saw that part too and the movie completely lost all credibility with me from that point on.Watching Hunter Killer the archery elk scene where the shot would be across an upland lake in……Scotland!
Let’s hear about a ridiculous one you’ve seen.
Or the fact they always play a red tailed hawk call for bald eagles!deer that make elk sounds, people who hold spinning reels upside down, and other things of that nature.
When they hear about Dick Cheney it's no wonder:Most hunting scenes in movies are bad. Scenes where the setting is in NA usually have exotic animals, the kill shot looks completely ridiculous or they somehow manage to stalk a trophy to 20 yards by wandering in the woods.
I want a movie hunting scene where they don't see sh*t or get winded and have an old doe stomp its feet and blow at them for 10 minutes.
But also, the overwhelming majority of people have no clue what hunting looks like so maybe those film makers have it figured out.
