schmalts...funny you should ask. we've been discussing that at home this week. these are the best tasting deer i've ever eaten, for some reason.

Best tasting of all the sitka you tasted or best of all the north american? What i mean is are they like a good corn fed WT doe??

I'm not sure what it is, but they aren't just the best sitka, the meat from these two is the best deer meat i've ever had...even better than any of the WT i've eaten. I'll have to get a couple more next year and see if it's the same....

Sitka blacktails are on my short list of animals to hunt....I hope to do a hunt in the next couple of years.... Maybe Marv will let me tag along with him...

I have never eaten them, but I have heard from other sources that they are the best tasting venison available... Looking forward to sampling some myself...
