Had the tag last year took me 18 if I remember right. Had a great hunt past on alot of deer some big whitetail that was hard not to shoot. Seen some great mule deer also passed on one open morning in the first 30 minutes that I regret not shooting hunted him the rest if season missed him 2 times second to the last day.

I could be wrong but I think the hunting public on YouTube hunted the black hills last year or year before. Might check that out. Congrats

I wanted to follow up on this thread. Had a bit of a tough year. We ended up not able to go to South Dakota. Thanks for the replies. Hopefully everyone had a great fall!

No. I didn't find out we couldn't go until a few days before the hunt. Points down the drain.

There is pocket of mulies that feed the edges of the "Piedmont burn." A forest fire blew through there about 20 years ago. I no longer hunt the Black Hills due to a number of factors, so good luck to you. TR

Sorry you missed out on the hunt, that said, I thought the Blackhills deer tags were easier to draw than what this thread suggests. I’ll go back and do some more research, but I’ve got a few points and was thinking about trying this year.
