Anybody ever do a bison meat hunt? A buddy of mine was asking me about it and wanted to know if I was intereted. The idea is just to fill the freezer with bison meat instead of buying pork and beef. We do have deer in the freezer but thats never enough. Please let me know if anybody has tried this and where an affodable place to go would be.

I looked into it once. There was a place on a reservation near fort peck. It seemed more reasonable than the others.

My dad did a cow up by mt. rushmore and I tagged along it wasn't much of a hunt but the few hours we spent chasing them around from draw to draw in the cedars until we could get a shot was pretty neat. The hunt started early Monday shot her and followed them to the butcher that aftrnoon. Spent tues seeing the stoneheads in the snow and with nobody around then Wed morning 8am picked up a fully butchered and froze load of cow buff and headed home. It was 2 Decembers ago and he's all out of steaks and ready to do it again...I will say that was some awesome meat and if I can swing some Spare cash this winter ill see if he wants to split on up and go again.
Gotta throw up a pic of pops and his buff and guide gun

And those are both exit holes first shot was double lung the the turned face on slightly quartering and he hit her in front of the passenger side shoulder and the big 45-70 went through 7+ feet of buffalo

I offer Buffalo meat hunts in northwest South Dakota on a large private ranch if that would be of interest.
