I rented a spotting scope in 2018 for a WY antelope hunt. Super easy, company I used shipped it to my door with a return slip included, when you’re done with it, drop it at Fed Ex to ship back. If I draw this year I may rent a set of 15x56 swarovskis from them.

I’m tempted to use this as a way to try before buying, but I’ve talked myself out of it so far since the net transaction cost of buying and selling used is less.
Not counting transaction risk, that is. Or risk of damaging them yourself, I suppose. Which is especially nonzero with kids
