Whitetails til the first Sunday in January...maybe an auodad in January...spring turkey...hogs year round, but most important, plan for next year Colorado elk.

Quail through January, some pheasant hunting, coyotes, bobcats through February.
"Sigh" - Seems like I will be spending a lot of time trying to find someone who wants to go on an "All expense paid" Alaska black bear hunt. Son is too busy with school and work.
Other guys who were at the top of the "alternate list" have not yet been able to give a commitment, so I am working my way further down the list. And as non-commital as guys can be, I am thinking I might have three or four backups, just in case.
Never thought the hardest part of this episode would be finding someone to tag along. I know I am a pain in the ...., ugly, smelly, and hard to get along with, but damn, I thought with enough of a bribe those guys would step up.
I gave them a deadline, so the clock is ticking, but it looks like winter could be spent finding someone who is under-employed, not committed to family obligations, not getting married, without a wife who will be pregnant, and not having an anniversary or some other very minor event that their "signifcant other" finds paramount to the treasured adventure of a Souteast Alaska black bear hunt.
When I watch guys go through that amount of domestic turmoil just for a two week hunt, I give even more thanks for Mrs. Fin and her level of patience ........ or the pleasure she finds in my absence.

Heck Fin, all you gotta do is ask. I'm can take off whenever you need, the wife is game for any trip and hardship, the boys are home schooled and able to travel. Be different, take us all on a family hunt!

Just give me some advance notice and I'll clear my schedule. How about making it the last week of August, so that I can go straight from there to my AK moose hunt that I'm going to draw?

Randy, quick update...Oak just called because he was too afraid to post this (for fear of your wrath) but he said he can't make that Sitka hunt - but not to worry - I'll be taking one for the team and filling in for him while he's out in the field.
