We had never seen or gotten a picture of a bobcat until a few years ago. Since then, we maybe get 1 picture a year or 2 if we're lucky. With such few pictures, I thought it was pretty cool to get this one with one carrying a squirrel.

That’s a great pic. I shot a short video of a bobcat carrying a gray squirrel as it walked past me in a deer blind last year at about 30 yards.

Here’s a series of a rutted up bull moose kicking the crap out of my buddy’s elevated stand. I enjoyed the photos more than he did.

Is this a hog or a dog or what? Got what looks like some big ole hog balls bouncing off its rear.

Shouldn’t be a dog, as it’s in a zone that’s closed until May 15. Unfortunately I have the camera set to take photos at 1 minute intervals to save battery, and couldn’t tell if a human was behind it. Pretty far up and back there, and not on a trail. Not exactly hog farm country down below. I’m at a loss on this thing.

Many of the WMA’s in UT stay closed to all use until mid-April. Gives the wildlife a refuge to recover from what is often a very harsh winter. I’m supportive of it. The last thing they need is humans pushing them around.

If it’s a WMA yes. WMA’s and other designated wintering areas have closure dates. All other national forest land is open year round.

The chunk where I got that photo is USFS. Closure for that area is set by a Forest Supervisor’s Order that’s been in effect for ages. I believe USFS Supervisor would have to issue another document rescinding such an order to establish new opening dates. It’s pretty well posted at the trailhead. Though not sure they’ve currently got the manpower to go check often if someone tore the signs down.

Same. Just moved into a new place and can glass elk from my living room while they chill in a closure zone. I’ll be sad when the cyclists show up again and the elk scram.
