So I followed Big Fin’s advice about not getting married during hunting season but messed up on my personal rutting season....thus little Cora Lynn was born October 12; my brothers birthday and just six days after my own. She will be seven weeks old tomorrow and has already seen just about every On Your Own Adventures and Fresh Tracks there is. It’s what we watch during the night when she won’t sleep and momma needs a break.
So my hunting season has been a bit tricky, luckily my in-laws are very supportive and helpful so I’m on my second trip this month.
Shot a turkey in the neck with the 6.5Hipster on the 20th and got back out today with a few days planned.
Shot my biggest buck to date at 5:30 this evening with my trusty old Model 70 that belonged to the original land owner of this property. All my biggest bucks have been shot with that rifle.
he’s got a few broken tines but that just adds character. I’m still amazed at how our central TX deer have such small bodies relative to their antlers.
