I happened upon a Woody Guthrie exhibit at the Morgan Library a few years back. The irony of a show dedicated to one of America’s favorite socialists at a museum in the former library of a famously ruthless capitalist wasn’t lost on me. They had his address book on display and I now know where Alan Lomax and Leadbelly used to live.
