Belted mag bulge?

The load is hot.
Are you saying to measure the width of the case above the belt?
Redding, type S bushing.
Yes measure the diameter of the case head just above belt and compare it to the unfired brass or reamer print. It shouldn’t grow much. It’s another tool to help determine if a load is to hot.

74gr H1000 and a barnes LRX 168, it's a hot one, and I'm planning on backing off to 72 gr as it was similar in accuracy and only modestly slower.
I don’t it’s that hot of a load. I used to use 7mm weatherby data for the mashburn because it seemed like the extra case capacity of the mashburn equaled the free bore of the weatherby so data and velocities were about equal. I seen more than a few manuals showing 75 grains of h1000 for 168 for the weatherby

its been awhile since I loaded my 7mm Rem Mag hot but was your bolt lift heavy when you extracted the brass after firing? I had a problem with a few rounds cracking above the belt after 3-5 firings and lowered my powder charge and switched to a neck sizer...then bought a 280AI.
