Eastern NC deer that have been harvested within 20 miles of my home in Pinetown. The only one that is mine is the one with me in the picture and the one after that in the white truck. My buddies I hunt with killed the rest. Best group of bucks in this area in the last 10 years that I can remember. Still in the middle of the rut here it seems. Just got our first frost. Enjoy, and feel free to comment.

If this is what the pinnacle of deer hunting is in your area, I would move. Not trying to be goofy here, but I would spend all of my time planning hunts elsewhere to maximize my potential and have fun doing it. I had what I thought was a good WT spot near my home. I took a buddy there that had travelled a bit more and when he seen my spot , he says "you need to find a new WT spot!". I was upset with him as I had taken a few "good "deer from there. In the end he was right. Now spending less time near my home hunting, but when I go elsewhere its game on and I'm really focused. the deer gods have been good since I have ventured out, and I would not have done so without someone giving me a nudge. once again, just trying to spark a new thought.

Spent a lot of my youth fishing in Beaufort County. Never had a hunting spot there. Those are some nice NC bucks.

@bonedogg I appreciate what your trying to say but I personally dont hunt for the antler size...that's a big plus but not the main focus. I hunt for the experience and the joy it gives me. I dream of hunting out of the state one day, but I just cant afford it right now at 22 years of age. It's the goal, but until then I do what I can with what I have!
