That is a younger bear (No scars on his face, has both ears, and not a lot of mass in his shoulders compared to his ass) that appears to be trying to establish his position. That situation could have gone south real quick.

He was an individual with enough knowledge of the context of that encounter, that he knew while the encounter was unnerving he was not in any danger.
