Not the argument I'm making. Would have no defense for any failed socialist economic experiments. I just value historical accuracy over political rhetoric.

It was more of a tongue in cheek remark regarding most socialist claiming every failed socialist model was not "real" socialism. Hitler never achieved socialism, nor do I believe he ever intended to. But his idea was sold as national socialism, hence the name... National Socialist German Workers' Party.

Derailing... probably gonna regret it, but.... Nazis weren't socialists, and I just physically can't see the claim made and not point it out. They and the communists do both suck though and I support their disparaging.

In the sense that the government ran and directed everything, that falls about as close as you can get. I guess not far off of our government structure the past 50 years.

You picked up my first thought on this. If Bushmaster/Remington got sued for some corny “masculine” advertising, I can only imagine how this advertising will go over with watchdog groups who are looking for ways to pin blame on guns or the gun industry for every ill in society.

Kids should not be shooting or handling firearms unsupervised regardless, and although most of us feel that that goes without saying, it can’t go without saying. I have kids shoot “full-size” ARs all the time. But you have to keep them on the bipods and help them to reposition them due to weight/ergonomics. Grip configuration isn’t an issue, nor is LOP. My goal is to get them to full sized bolt action rifles, but sometimes they just like to shoot them. Nothing wrong with that. I don’t get what these people are trying to accomplish with their product, though

I grew up with and had access to more guns than our entire sheriffs department and the adjoining counties had. It was drilled into my head that they were not toys, and if I treated them like toys I would not be allowed to use them.

This is the crux of the argument, and the marketing for this particular rifle treats it like a toy.

Well, only some of them are becoming illegal. Already those guns were legally bound to storage under lock and key at the home or firing at a registered gun range so banning them altogether was dumb. Pure feel-good cosmetics.

Fortunately, our aboriginal brethren will save the day. Only thing the liberal types here fear more than black guns is further eroding the native culture ... an integral component of which is survival with guns. An interesting example was federal govt recently revoking a certain big name courier service from delivering guns and ammo because their drivers had a habit of dropping them at the door without getting a signature, let alone verifying recipients' identity (to posses a gun here, even momentarily, requires a federal photo ID). The courier ban made it almost impossible to order guns or ammo in NW Ontario (a HUGE geographic area). Well, the gun crowd here got the Native element on board to complain that this was interfering with their ability to feed themselves. Presto! Overnight the courier restriction is lifted. To avoid falling into that trap again, the Liberal govt simply exempted the Native population from the upcoming ban on black guns. Yep! Guess who just became Canada's next generation of assault gun runners?

I think if we got back to our grandfathers and grandmothers principals and morals we’d be a lot better off that includes marketing. 60-80 years ago .22’s and the like were marketed right at youngsters “boys rifles” etc. it’s 100% a people problem not blame the firearm problem.

In 1954: Schools (and just about everywhere else) were segregated, you couldn't marry outside your race, being gay could be used to throw you in prison, mental health has putting people in asylums & abusing them with electric shock, there wasn't a Clean Air or Clean Water Act and a huge swath of the Great Lakes were devoid of fish, let alone drinkable water.
