Please let us know if you have a GPS that you can use during the survey.
SEEKING 50 PEOPLE TO JOIN THE ALTAR VALLEY STEWARDSHIP TEAM --
HUNTERS, HIKERS, & ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT THE ALTAR VALLEY!
Be part of a team conducting Pima pineapple cactus research that will help
return prescribed fire to the Altar Valley. Fire helps keep grassland habitat
healthy and productive!
The Details
• Meet at 8:30 am at Anvil Ranch.
• Be prepared for walking 1 - 4 miles / 5 hours in desert country -- good boots, sturdy clothing, sun
protection, and forceps, comb or plier for yanking cholla off your cloths.
• Bring backpack with your own drinks, snacks or lunch for the day.
• PLEASE BRING A GPS if you have one!
• Survey work will be complete by around 3 pm
• Meet back at the Anvil afterwards for a BBQ & presentation about the Pima pineapple cactus.
• Drinks and meat, beans, & tortillas will be provided, as well as other dishes -- potluck welcome too!
