AZ hound hunting ban petition

I wish these organizations would put their resources into conserving wildlife habitat that actually would help wildlife. Instead they waste so many resources combating sportsmen who also care for wildlife.
I believe many middle of the road Colorado voters began to share this same sentiment as they grew more familiar with the Prop 127 proponents. They truly don’t care about broad wildlife conservation, they are animal rights/welfare organizations pushing an anti-hunting agenda.

Apparently nobody at CBD has talked to a houndsmen or upland hunter about what happens when wolves & sporting dogs meet.
Yea, I've heard WI houndsmen have been losing quite a few. Seems like CBD's 'concern' for jaguars and wolves is an attempt at clouding the issue, since these arguments are difficult to disprove.

What is AZ's petition process? Similar to CO?
To be sure, this is a citizen's petition to the Commission. By regulation, the Commission has 60 days to respond to the petition by either rejecting the petition and stating the reason, or beginning the rulemaking process. The December Commission meeting is on the 6th at the Phoenix HQ, but the petition will not be on the agenda. However, sportsmen's groups are encouraged to attend. The January meeting is on the 24th, also at the Phoenix HQ. This is when they will have to respond, as it will be right at the end of the 60 day window.

Arizona has a 5-member Commission. Issues like this are determined by a simple majority vote.

unfortunately, for CBD and their backers that reality would be just another great reason and sound byte to keep those poor mistreated and abused hounds out of the woods.
