This year I knew my hunting was going to be dialed back a little as my oldest boy could finally hunt WY and my middle kid could hunt ID. I've still had a decent season (buck, bull, and antelope) but the best highlights have been the kids hunts.

We started off on 3rd choice antelope tags in Wyoming. Tons of people, not much public land, and not many goats but we snuck into around 95 yards and my oldest smoked him.461877306_10162083906610539_2880216805932146933_n.jpg

Then off to Idaho for my middle kids deer tag. It was hot and dry. We got close on a couple but it ended up being more of a touring of eastern Idaho and Yellowstone. Good times.IMG_1224.JPEGIMG_1206.JPEGIMG_1156.JPEG

Back to WY for my oldest kids deer tag. We went this last week knowing the snow was coming. Due to the gun my oldest wanted to shoot, we needed to be inside of 150 yards/max 200. We had some really nice bucks around but due to the range limits and their snow bibs :ROFLMAO: we were struggling getting close. We finally found two nice bucks bedded and this guy pops up at 50 yards while stalking in. He was tickled with him and that's all I could ask for.

Definitely my favorite year out West so far.

Great job taking them out. Glad they had success. Many of my best memories are days in the field with my dad.

Heck yeah! I’ve been taking my daughter hunting since she was 4. She turned 12 this year and could finally deer hunt. She shot her first buck and is now hooked! Love getting the kids out there. Good job! 👍🏽
Congrats to the both of you! Can't wait until y'all do next year.

Best hunts you'll ever have right there! Congrats to all. How do you like that ruger for the boys? My step Dad just ordered one for all the grandkids
The second gen Ruger's are really nice, especially for recoil shy kids with the muzzle break. We have two now.

Great hunts for your boys! Not bad for yourself as well!
Pile of fish!!! What type? Bass, largemouth?

Another Q: I viewed your hat, appears something to the effect, ethical hunt youth(?). Would you expound on that? Is it self developed, promoting for an organization, or ?.
Inquiring donor minds want to know - hunting, ethics, and youth are premium qualities for our future generations! If I was able to view that well enough, would be interested to learn more.

Good on ya, Pops!

Yes, largemouth bass. That was one of several trips while we were down.

The hat is actually an old Mule Deer Foundation hat I was given by a colleague several years ago to say thanks for some fish passage work I had done. I always like the message it sent, seems to help keep things in perspective.
