I have 2 boats and a Minolta on one and a motor guide on the other. They both work great but I have tried the auto deploy and it just became a giant pain in the butt. For one from the bank your remote is opposite so it's easy to get turned around. You end up hitting the dock and you definitely can't shore launch it because you will have to wade out knee deep because of the motor depth. My remote only works well to about 50 ft which seems like enough until the ramp gets crowded with impatient morons that play bumper boats. For fishing they are hands down a great tool but it's just as easy for me to launch the old fashioned way unfortunately.
