Hope you all have an awesome waterfowl opener here in Montana tomorrow!
It was a good morning. We had to get muddy, but found our seven green heads.

It was self applied. When I threw out the first decoy in the dark and heard it hit mud, I knew it was going to be a dirty day. Took a little longer than I was planning and had to move decoys once to fine tune on the birds. Tomorrow should be better (quicker).

Short lived opener, something out there nearly killed my dog, no idea what, if it was the water, a plant, or something someone left out, 30 mins after shoot time he went in to coughing, hacking, throwing up episodes, rushed him to the vet and they determined he had burns on his palette, esophagus, and stomach. They say he should recover but still have no idea what caused it. Pretty scary morning with a Terrified 12 y/0 daughter who thought her dog was dying. 4BFC2884-A796-4FB9-9C6E-714A6B840CF7.jpeg

Sheesh, scary… glad your dog is going to be ok!

Got into them good today for our opener, I was filled up with about an hour and a half before close. Called and watched my buddy scratch out a few more. Walk in and out was brutal, but worth the effort. Awesome start.

Jealous of all of y'all that get to chase big ducks right now.

Season doesn't open here until Dec 7th.
We get a nice 4 day split from Nov 25-28, but it can be hit or miss. You better sleep on your spot too

That's the scariest thing I've ever seen come out of a duck hunt. I sure hope he will be okay. But why the rabies/parvo shots when this is a severely distressed dog?

If you ever find out what did this, please post. I can't imagine what would do that.

We recently moved and couldn’t find his shot records in our boxes, he was up to date to 1 year but I know he needed the update to the 3 year rabies as he is 18 months. I asked about the safety of giving it to him and the vet said it should be fine, not sure on the Parvo, I just told them to make sure he was up to date on Any shots he should have when we talked about it.

Scary !! I can't imagine what would have caused that. I had an 11 month old Chessy on her first trip to Saskatchewan get into something that caused a terrible allergic reaction. Saved her with a big dose of Benadryl from my first aid kit.
