Ask your onX Hunt questions here!

OK, so here is a request, kind off the beaten path though. Just got done with a Audobon Christmas Bird Count and was thinking that it would be real handy if OnX had the overlay of the count circles that is available online. Maybe team up with Audobon and advertise. I brought the technology up at the meeting and was essentially told that they are a bunch of old retired people that have no idea how technology works:)

Having worked for Audubon for 2 years, that tracks. But that is a very good idea. Would probably require a sponsorship code/48 hr free trial coupon since the CBC relies on volunteers that probably don't need another barrier to entry. I used to use onX for wetland bird surveys via kayak for mapping and data recording. Better than dealing with recording on paper when you're floating 6 inches about the water. I was not aware of anyone else using it in the birding world. Definitely a potential untapped market.

i'd really like a layer of all the no christmas tree cutting zones from the usfs.

def illegally cut down a tree in 2023 without realizing. there are some squirrely little zones out there in some places you're better off ignoring if all you have is a paper map.

That's a great suggestion. We'll pass that along to our GIS Team!

Onx is using 57GB on my iPhone. I deleted unused maps and it didn’t help.

There’s a thread on Rockslide that says I should delete and reinstall. If I do that can I get my maps and waypoints back?

When I got a new phone and transferred data from old to new phone, my ONX content did not show up. After attempting unsuccessful fixes suggested by ONX tech, finally I uninstalled the ONX app, then reinstalled it, and restarted my phone. It worked! I now have all content on new phone.
Don't know if that will help, Rob, but perhaps give it a try.

Uninstalling and reinstalling will not affect your waypoints. When you reinstall the app, your offline map downloads will be removed, but the borders of those map will be retained. So all you will need to do once you reinstall and log back in, is to go into your Offline Maps tab and tap on each map listed there to download it again.
