As they lay

That is a pretty neat photo.
He came in with 2 cows, got a drink and all I kept getting was a frontal shot or his ass. Tried to get a better angle when they were leaving and the cows busted me (187 yds) so I said WTF and put it right on the front shoulder crease. Spun once and headed right back for the water (about 20-30 yds away). Muttered something to the effect of "i'm gonna get fu%$#king wet" and he piled up right on the edge.

Funky bull, horns were all jacked up right from the skull out. Also seemed like his legs were abnormally "short". Did the northern Idaho gene pool a favor methinks.

About a hundred yards from the last “as they lay.” There’s quite the pile of bones under my skinning post there.

It took over 30 minutes of telling a story through calls. She finally caved in when I slowly created a confrontation and fight. She came sprinting and leaping through the field looking for the fight with her hackles up. She stopped at 86 yards staring into the wind searching for the confrontation with her lips curled.

💥 right through the vitals. She took two spins and it was over. Classic coyote hunting, nothing until it’s an adrenaline laced story.

P.S. I always skin in the field to leave the meat for the critters. It goes back to the system and also saves more prey animals.
