As they lay

Great work! How did the ankle hold up? I've been wondering how things went after the long wait! congrats!
Ankle is actually pretty good. My knees were actually more sore than my ankle even though I only had to carry the back half of the sheep on my pack about half a mile. My son got both halves down off the cliffy part of the mountain where I felt much more confident.
I'm writing an update with pics right now.

I share how I found a dual deadhead Sunday here post #425:

Somehow the front half of one skull didn’t make it back to the SUV.

Tonight I went back and scoured the death sight, where I picked up the mandible pieces and a scapula, but didn’t find the piece I was looking for.

I retraced my steps across the wheat stubble, all the while scanning the ground for some dirty stinky nasal/maxilla bones.

A successful conclusion to the search about 100 yards away from where I first picked them up.

Pretty excited to use my Tikka .308.
Its the compact I bought for my daughter who decided she wasn't interested. The last year, or so, this rifle has been giving me fits. Put a Bell and Carlson on a few weeks back, scrubbed some carbon build up, ...oh yeah, new Maven scope. Shoots like a champ now.
The Tikka Compact is a great little rifle
