Can you share anything about the rifle?


It is an original 1886 special order gun with XXX wood, 2/3 magazine, shotgun butt, 45-70, half round half octagon barrel. It letters as such and shipped in 1890. Rarely do you see them with this much original finish. When I saw it, I bought it knowing I wouldn't run into another one in this condition for that price.

I shoot 405 cast bullets with AA 5744 powder. It shoots at about the original velocity that the 45-70 came out with. The penetration of that bullet is tremendous. I used it in this Centennial1886 and it completely penetrated this bull and another cow behind it...
