I hated my time requiring slug guns, but still think the 870 is bada** slug gun. Great deer to go with it!

Yeah thanks, my dad gave me that 870 when he stopped hunting. He and I hunted a lot of waterfowl when I was growing up, but where I live now in MT isn't great waterfowl hunting. Since I live near a weapons-restriction area with a lot of whitetail deer and seemingly few people willing to hunt them, I put on a rifled barrel and a scope and it's been a great gun to keep the freezer filled. I guess accuracy is an issue for some, but I hunt from a stand, and in 10+ years I've never taken a shot farther than 50 yards.Love that 870. I’ve got a soft spot for slug guns.
Yeah, I shot him on the steep slope, then he ran up hill to a, more or less, flat spot, then fell back down on the steep part.Nicely done. Just a skosh bigger than mine, but looks a heck of a lot steeper.
Is that him?!!A great sight to walk up to on the Wisconsin opener !!View attachment 302640
