Archery Elk Hunt GMU 521 in Colorado

Got it! What part of 521 have you considered other than the Wilderness? Will be coming from the west via Paonia on highway 133?

Yeah, in from Paonia. Also considering possibly the Drift Creek basin to the west and I'd be willing to go further out to the west side of the unit if the snow is too much to handle. I've hunted the north side of Huntsman Ridge before several years ago and didn't have much luck so right now pretty sold on Raggeds or that southern basin by the Huntsman Ridge drainages.

Thanks again for your help! Glad to meet other helpful hunters in the community. Feel like that's a part of our culture we're slowly losing.

Thanks for your comments. I've got a couple good areas, but some personal issues came up Friday that I'm dealing with. I'll try and did my maps out tomorrow and email you. How far from the camp/road are you prepared to go?

Take your time! Thanks for your reaponses. As far as needed really! No qualms about setting up spike camps and whatnot at needed.
