I've loaded for the 41 mag a bit, its the only large bore handgun I own.
I load 220 grain hard cast Keith grade bullets 10-1 lead/tin. A buddy of mine and I ordered a bullet mold from Hensley and Gibbs out of Oregon and mold our own bullets. Its the exact mold they designed as per Elmer Keiths hand-written sketches. In fact, they sent photo-copies of Elmers original sketches along with the mold.
I usually reload with either 2400 or bluedot.
As per Keiths writings/experience, hard cast bullets cause very little, if any, fouling and penetrate game and kill better than hollow points or soft points.
I'm no expert on the 41 mag...but Elmer was, and I just copied what he did.
Thanks guys. I am working on getting that gun now, but the sellers are kind of strange, they say they will not sell to any Wi residents even though they are in WI themselves. But the price is rock bottom for what i want through them.
