Last I recall his wife was sick. Any news on that?I stay in touch with him. Seems like everything is going well for them and his son has become an absolute deer slayer. Next time we talk I will pass alone people are asking about him and hopeful he is doing well, I am sure he will appreciate it and crack a smart arse response.
#*^@#* yah buddy, glad to see everything is going well. Best news I've heard in a while.I’m still alive, my wife is doing good. Just kinda took some time off the internet. I kinda figured I had more important things to do than log on here and post my usual nonsense.
My wife’s tumor has shrunk a little bit, the radiation took a pretty good toll on her last winter, but she’s tough as nails and feeling good now. So now it’s just up to future scans and praying it keeps shrinking. I didn’t take any time last spring to plan any hunts, just making sure she got back to normal. She went deer hunting last fall, she’s very picky so she passed a lot of nice bucks. With her improved health we have an elk hunt kinda planned out for her next fall.
We had a great deer season, of course I was the worst hunter of the bunch and that included 2 11 year old boys. One day I had 3 big bucks around me and couldn’t get drawn on any of them, November 13 after sitting all day for multiple days in the rain I had a very big buck chasing a doe, I couldn’t get him stopped to shoot, so as I’m completely dejected thinking about finding a new hobby I’m somewhat competent at this one decided to come out right behind them and stop at 30 yards. My son sat with my wife for rifle season, I took my nephew out for his first deer season. My son shot a good one the first evening. View attachment 355904
Then I grabbed my nephew from school a couple days later and took him into a spot I’d really been trying to stay out of all year just to kind of leave as a sanctuary. We plunk down by a tree, about 5 minutes later a buck comes by chasing a doe about 80 yards. It was sort of a fiasco getting the buck to stop in an opening but he finally did, he made a great shot. I think the poor kid is gonna have a hard time topping his first deer for a few years. View attachment 355905
Hope all is well with everyone else! Sorry I haven’t logged in and been in touch. I talk to @ccc23454 quite a bit and he said you guys were asking so it’s his fault I’m back on and probably gonna stir the pot and cause trouble on here.
