Did this hunt last year but went at probably the worst possible time to hunt the deer.I still had a blast and was in some incredible country.I know the island a lot better now.this year I'm thinking of hunting the opener in early August up in the alpine.Looking for a partner or 2 to split expenses at the lodge/cabin rental. This is more like an elk hunt and some training is involved ahead of time;which I learned this past fall the hard way.If you have serious interest let me know and we can get a cabin booked. There are a few salmon around for fishing also, lol. The cabin includes a truck and boat

This trip won't break the bank either.I did the hunt for just over 2k and $900 of that was in my flight from the east coast. You can buy up to 4 deer tags too.Blacktail is the best deer meat you'll ever eat.The hunt is more of a spot and stalk type hunting with a lot of glassing up above treeline

Putting this back up to the top.I'm doing this August of 2016.I know some guys were interested after seeing Randy is doing this hunt this coming season for the show.If I plan early enough I can get good dates on cabin but may camp. Not sure on the camping bit though because it likes to rain ALOT on the island. This would definitely get you in shape for archery elk hunts come Sept

I'm headed up there in a couple weeks for the first time to look around. If I like what I see I may very well be wanting to head back in 2016 for my first attempt at a Sitka Blacktail....

I'll have to see what I was able to save.I took a bunch on my old phone but that one broke and lost a lot of pics.I'm sure I put some on my computer files though
