Anyone bear hunted NC?

The first bear is a tank! Wish I knew more of the back story. Sometime around 1976-78 I believe. Both from the NC mountains

They come from all around to cut corn fields.

Farmers have a time with them here in SWVA raiding the corn fields causing major damage. Not unusual at all for a farmer to have 4-5 damage permits to shoot them on sight anyway they can. My friend shot a darn nice bear last summer on a permit. Outside of that like said before focus in early October on acorns or hickory groves. They love hickory nuts.
I walked right upon a small bore Wednesday evening while Turkey hunting.

No doubt there’s some big ones down east of me. Need a semi truck to haul em out of swamp I believe 886 is the state record for weight.
