I'd like something similar to this with a deeper butt stock pocket (approx 1") to fit a sissy pad inside. Durable - reasonable thickness, quality leather. No stamping, etc. Plain Jane is fine with me. Set for a general fit: Lyman Great Plains .54 Thanks.

Too bad dad wasn't still alive. He would be all over it, but would have to be made from elk leather.

Elk leather would take the cake! That would be fantastic! I believe when/if I put an elk down with this, I'm going to make a carry scabbard, sling, and possibles sachel from its hide.

What a great method to maintain the cherished vibe for such hunts.

@406LIFE that website has a new client thanks to your referral! Great link for a variety of useful items! Thank you.

@2rocky they have a nice sling on 406's suggested website I purchased. I will keep your linked suggestion in mind if I'm able to drop an elk for the mentioned additions. Thanks.

I got a guy who is pretty darn good if you want his info. It’s a shame you don’t want any tooling done though.

That is some seriously fantastic tooling! Definitely one heck of a skilled leather-worker.

Tooling cost money. While I think it's fantastic it's beyond my dollar value for a sling.

I think I'm set with the link above for a nice sling. I think it will work out pretty good. thanks everyone for the tips and PMs.

My buddy doesn’t charge what he should. It’s more a relaxing hobby to him than a money thing. While it no doubt adds money, if he gave you a quote, you might be surprised. I’ve been telling him to charge 3x-4x as much as he does for years.
