It was brutal being in CST and having a puck drop for the Wild game last night at 10:10PM cst. Went to bed after 1am and up at 6am. I'm dragging today

Yeah, when I lived in NC there were some very late nights watching playoff hockey! Of course it wasn’t any later than a lot of our beer league games.

We didn’t play very well and were lucky to win that one. Andersen deserved first, second and third stars for us!
WWE is a good way to describe that headbutt - looked bad, but pretty much harmless. Meier’s reaction was a little dramatic.

We were 9:30 or 11:00. At one point I was playing up to 3 nights a week. That got old quick when having to get up the next morning to gets kids off to school and get to work.
Games are usually over here by 7:30.(Fairbanks) The strangest thing to me is in November and December. The early NFL games start at 9 am and it is dark out. And also thirty years in Colorado our weekly skate started at 10:30 pm, but that was mostly because youth hockey had the ice time scheduled in the earlier. Really dating myself, 1988 When I played on the state midget AAA team we practiced 10:30 - 12 : 30 pm at south suburban ice rink in littleton three times a week (mon, tues, thurs), and then I had to drive back to Vail after practice in time to go to school.

I have a game tonight at 9:45. I'll always complain about how late ours is, but fully acknowledge just how much worse it can be
The new South Suburban rink (complex, more aptly) is slick. You probably wouldn't recognize it.
So much more ice available in CO now than even 15 years ago, much less 30. Growing up in MN, we had rinks everywhere (incl Outdoor), so it was a little bit of a shock to the system here.
I wouldn't. I probably wouldn't regonize alot of Colorado. It has been a long while. The rink boom came when the Avs moved to town in 1995. I know in the eighties Minnesota had more rinks than all the US combined, and Toronto had more rinks than Minnesota. Might be an exaggeration but seamed possible to me at the time.

Panthers looked like the Cup team they can be, thats dangerous for the East. Put Tkatchuk and Marchand on a line at some point, and Id love to have a way to listen to that ice talk all night, screw the announcers. Been some great games so far. Kings/Oilers was wild, I think Kings should finally get past them this year, but if they allow 4 goal comebacks, they will stab themselves. I hit a nice little 9,000% parlay bet the other night, wouldnt mind a few more of those this playoffs

The kids got all the good ice time when I was in NC. After the Canes relocated there, youth hockey took off like wildfire, and they couldn’t build rinks fast enough to keep up with the demand. So us old farts got pushed to the graveyard shifts.
Was just talking about this the other night, I can’t stand him in the studio, he’s trying to clown it up like Biz does and PK just isn’t very funny. I can’t stand messier as an analyst either despite obviously being a top 10 all timer on the ice.
Steve Levy is the sh*t, though. But vastly prefer TNTs group.
At least I will be there so won’t have to listen to them (or Leah Hextall for that matter) on TV tonight
