Antler point restrictions

Oak,

Paul doesnt get it.

Both you and osok are wasting your time on Paul.

Hey Paul, how about you propose to the MTFWP or better yet FNAWS, that bighorn sheep age classes should be managed like the elk herd in Colorado. Whack 'em and stack 'em and maintain a herd structure of 1.8 rams over 3.5 years old per 100 ewes.

Hey, it would provide a lot more opportunity, we'd all have a 1/3 curl ram on the wall.

Oak,

I don't live in Colorado and don't plan to hunt there. If you think Colorado's elk herds are suffering from poor management, then do something about it.

Your right Buzz. I don't get it. A guy kills way more animals in a season than his family can eat and gives away much of it. He has a tag to kill a second bull in the same season, and uses that tag to kill a 2 year old bull. Then he gets on the computer and complains that there are too few mature bull elk. Yep, I don't get it.

I just wish Idaho would do something whether its point restrictions or more controlled hunts. Seems to me we have reactive management here, instead of active. There are some draw tags that are real good if you draw, but the odds are not in your favor at all. Our zone system that we went to a few years back that was supposed to be the answer ain't panning out IMO. Every year I hear the same thing "Well, numbers are starting to look better, it should be better this year, next year,..." They should be honest and say "Its better somewhere else, try Arizona."

The complete opposite of CO isn't much fun either (ie AZ & UT).

PS-Any Coloradoan want to help me out in getting one of these small raghorns?? :D I make a pretty good camp b!tch...
