In this case it was hunting show personality Tim Hearald who shot his PH!!
Good for Hearald to post to "avoid rumors"
They were tracking a lone Cape Buff bull in heavy Jess. Herald says he heard brush being run thru and thought Buff was going...wrong...he was coming... party split to side and Buff was coming straight at Herald...by his account he took a couple of steps back as he was raising his .416 and tripped causing him to fire a 400gr solid....the PH fired simultaneously and hit the Buff in the side and turned it. Hearald's shot hit the PH in the shoulder with a clean pass thru and he is expected to make full recovery.
Hate to sound like I know this sounds but....so Tim , why were you backing up? Why did you have safety off? Before gun was to shoulder?:
Glad you were using solids rather than SP's as I would have been---you would have blown PH's shoulder off.....

IMO, most tv "Professional Hunters" are a joke and quite a few hunters on this site would put them to shame in real hunting scenarios! I feel for the PH...having to deal with D-Bags like that...but then again, it's his choice to chase the $$$!

Now it's just a matter of time before the pic rings up. :)

Ask and ye shall receive.

No kidding! I would have had it off as soon as we were even close. But, on the other hand I will never be in that position anyway.

I agree about the TV hunters being idiots. Some of the stuff they do is unbelievable.

When I first got on this site, quite a few years ago, that picture was one of the first I ever saw. I still laugh, and think back to the commentary on that thread. Good stuff.

I haven't seen that thread can someone post a link?

Funny is funny and that is funny, but as someone who used solids on his first Cape Buffalo hunt and had it go down from me less than two steps away, hunting Cape Buff is not funny...I litterally watched him go down with his eyes focused on me and still digging with one front paw...but it is damn great fun!!

Guess we won't see the video of TV personality Hearld whacking his PH.....but we all know he had a videographer along...
