I practice at 80-100 most of the time, but 40 is my limit shooting at critters. I’m confident at 50-60-70 but too much can go wrong with them moving during arrow flight. Here is a novel idea..practice your hunting/ calling skills . Hold out for a 30 yard shot or less ,instead of launching and praying at 60. The back yard is not the mountains.
Flame away.
"Now my chances of finding it next year are twice as good!"Then you find it immediately when you get back from a hunting trip.
I've killed an elk at 63 yards with my bow, an antelope at 53 and a mule deer at 56. I shoot my bow almost everyday. How many got away?I've killed an elk at 63 yards with my bow, an antelope at 53 and a mule deer at 56. I shoot my bow almost everyday. Thanks for your concern.
2 elk in 15 years. 40 yard shot and arrow deflected off a limb that I didn’t see on one. Hit the shoulder with a mechanical broad head and didn’t get penetration on the other. No more mechanical heads for me. I’m confident they both lived. It’s part of hunting. How many got away?
I saw that climate protestors put a delay to your hedonistic rituals this year. The irony of some people!
SO EXCITED.
Need to get through Burning Man (lol don't @ me) and climbing in Idaho. THEN BOW HUNTING!!!!
That is what happens to a country boy shortly after arriving at collage his freshman year, nothing to do with elk hunting.Anyone else’s neck starting to swell?View attachment 290144
