Last Friday the kid had no school and I was off work so I called a buddy that was looking for cats to see if we could help out. He was happy to accommodate and we him at his place to see if we could turn up a cat for a mutual buddy. We drove some lease and forest service roads all am. We saw one good track but it had been from the day before and we were looking for something that was fresh. we rounded a corner in the side by side to quite the vision.........cat 1.jpg

A call was made to our buddy in the city to grab his gear and race out while we got the dogs ready for the chase. He took about an hour and 30 minutes but we were ready and had a few hours of light left to release the hounds. we made it back to the track and it had been filled in quite a bit since we left which reassured us that it was smoking hot when we found it. The dog's GPS collars were working and it showed them chase for about 20 minutes and then they showed up as treed, going vertical on the GPS. It only took us about 20 minutes to get to the treed cat.cat4.png

Congrats on the cat. There’s nothing like listening to a good pack of hounds work a track. Great looking cat even without the ears.
