A while ago Ovis posted a link to Alaska Airlines' showing how a person can ship cargo for lower rates by becoming a verified shipper. I can't find the old link and I can't find anything on Alaska Airline's website. Can anyone help?

T-Bone.....Security Requirements for All Shippers - The U.S. government has established security measures, which affect all shippers. Compliance with these regulations is required before you can ship on Alaska / Horizon Airlines. Prior to tendering your shipment, please contact Alaska / Horizon Cargo Services, 1-800-225-2752, or the local cargo facility, for confirmation of your shipping status.

Verified shipper status does not give you lower rates, only allows you to ship....for lower rates you can go the strapped pallet route or the pallet cargo box route (the box is about $150.00 but has an O-ring seal and you can use for other storage or shipment. Last I shipped this way the rate was only about $0.25 per lb.

info.

If you fly, you get to take 3 bags, instead of 2, like on lower 48 airlines. That was true in August and September anyway.
