AK POW Sitka Buck

Nice work all the way around! I didn't see the lady standing in a stream catching salmon, but looks like she schooled you in the catching... :)

He had already had taken a 600 yard high-speed header down the mountain after the shot and got hung up in a small bush. If I wouldn't have tied him up, he would have went at least that far again. Boning and caping him on that steep of mountainside was challenging!

Thanks for sharing details of your trip! You must be one super lucky guy, the buck didn't bust off any antler during its 600 yard cartwheel spree down the mountain!

Been wondering what happened to you and VERY glad to see how things have turned out, congratulations!

So let me get this straight. She told you she wanted to go catch salmon in Alaska and you didn't ask her to marry you right then and there?!?!

Congrats on a great trip!

Congrats on the awesome sitka buck. Looks & sounds like a fun adventure.

Best of luck on the up coming hunts. The ND mule deer tag is a golden ticket this year.

looks like a pretty lucky man to me! congrats and looks like many more adventures on the horizon! :)

Really enjoyed the story and the pictures. Sounds like a great all-around experience and to top it off - you got the girl! Great Sitka buck...a Kodiak hunt for Sitkas is near the top of my bucket list. Have been thinking 2014 is the year, but I've got to get out from under 2 mortgages to make that happen...

Glad to see that catching crabs on your honeymoon can also be a good thing.

Good to see things are so well on Buschy-land, and that looks like a great buck as well.

Now that's what you call a Cast & Blast! That's an awesome sitka! Congrats on your marriage and on your great trip! I just got back from an Alaskan cruise with my fiance and she absolutely loved it! She now knows why I love to hunt & fish Alaska.

Great stuff!

Had a similar experience with my Roosevelt bull this year. TIed him to a tree just before he slid to the bottom then struggled to gut and quarter him on a 45 degree slope. Gotta take 'em where you can. :)
