Afraid of Heights??

My hands are getting sweaty just looking at that picture. Nothing about that looks fun to me!!

I once heard a guy sum it up for me as we stood on the Royal Gorge Bridge looking down: "I'm not afraid of falling. I'm afraid of jumping."

There is an almost uncontrollable tourettes-like impulse to shove off. So far I've managed to overcome it. :D

I used to be a rappel master and SPIE Rigger and having a rope destroys, for me, any sense of danger.

I had my first encounter with "age" whilst free climbing the cliffs behind Juneau, AK. Up to that point I had been invincible and fearless. Then I found myself in a tight spot for going back, up or sideways. For the first time in my life it occurred to me that I was mortal. After managing to squeak out of there, I decided I finally had a future to look forward to with renewed investment. ;)

As they say, it's not always the fall that kills you; it's that sudden stop at the bottom.

I used to do some real dumb stuff.....I try and avoid that stuff these days.
I am amazed I'm alive and about to turn 60.
