A great shot is right.Heckuva shot at 417 yards!
Awesome buck!Daughter and I headed out for a quick hunt after school and she evidently brought her lucky horse shoe with her. Spoiled her on her first deer. 22 creedmoor 77 grain TMK started at 3150fps.

Shows how far technology has come. My dad would have kicked my ass if I had even thought of trying a shot that far when I was her age.
I was shooting a M77 243 with a four power scope. 450 yards with that set up would have been a pull the trigger and pray, not to mention the range would have been my best guess. I once missed a wopper of a buck because I over estimated the range by 100 yards. We shoot a lot. She practices to 450 most of the summer

Always just amazes me at the lack of fat on the bucks after rutting. Its a wonder how some of them make it through a long winter. For those interested in bullet performance here’s what the 77 TMK did at 417 yards. Broke a rib going in and coming out and went through shoulder blade on exit and bullet was caught against the hide. Lungs were liquified
