The green line is where the end of the full diameter of the bullet will be at the boat tail in relation to the neck. The red line is where it is at 0.070” off the lands now.

I never did open the Partitions up to try them yet.

I made a cast of the chamber and measured the free bore and compared it to the SAAMI prints. And it’s right there with it.

So now I want to figure out how far out I want to push the bullet and rethroat the chamber to change the freebore to give me more case capacity.View attachment 290895

It’s doing better since then and I’ve been getting more comfortable with the scope position and height.
Any advantage casting the chamber vs measuring with a Wilson gauge? ( or similar)

@Farmerj ,

I got my start in tinkering on guns with my Stevens 200 in 7mm-08.
Adjusted the trigger & some stone work.
Took the barrel off & reamed the chamber to Improved, 40°. (AI, but Ackley never did any work with anything from the 308 parent case)
And screwed the barrel back on.

For the Tupperware stock. I experimented with several things.
Carbon fiber arrow, whole & cut in half lengthwise.
Aluminum tubing.
Steel tubing.
Fibreglass & epoxy resin.

Best result was lightweight body filler. AKA Bondo.
Scuff up the inside of the stock.
Clean with starting fluid, OUTSIDE!!!
Tape up the edges & action area.
Spray with adhesion promoter. Found any place auto body supplies are sold.
I did drill holes through the webbing on the stock to help lock it in.

Definitely made the forestock more rigid!!
Didn't add a lot of weight.
Still my most grabbed rifle at hunting season.
