When you bring your Buddies to the Airport and they drop the bags off at the security station and they ask :

"Do you have any weapon's in here".

I've come to realize it's "NOT FUNNY" to to them when say a reply :

"Hey, you're the ones with the Fancy equipment, you tell us !!!!".

Anyways, Sorry ;) and Good Luck T-bone, Deadeye270, Jason and Brent, May your Bullets find the Caribou and Moose !!!!!

So, those 4 guys are going for 4 caribou and 4 mooses? That is, if they ever mad it through security.

How are they going to do it? I can see that would not be too funny to the airport guys.

How are they going to do it?

Well, they will start off by flying up ther eand finding animals and Pulling the trigger. I can give you a Further break down on how they set up camp and get dressed too but I'm not sure how much info you need.

Actually, it's 4 moose and 6 'bou. My guess is 2 moose and 6-7 bou will die.

I was thinking like, on their own, with a friend who's up there, in a drop camp, with a guide, things like that? Is this the group going to the Arctic circle? That will be lots of meat to deal with, they need help with that, it seems like. Its a 2 bou area, wow. Aren't bou and mouse hard to find in the same place? Will they move after a while or what? Just curious.

It's Semi Guided. there is a Guy from here that is a Guide up there that sets up some semi guided hunts. He does a Airport to Airport deal. Those guys fly up today, Spend the Night in Kotsebou (SP?) and then goes to Noatak (SP?) then Jet boat up the Noatak river for 3-4 hours to the hunting spot. There is a Camp set up and they use the Jetboat to be mobil. I think the Bou's in that area are Fetching Awesome and the Moose are hit and Miss. I hope those boys get the "HIT" though !!!

Artic Circle is a Fast food joint here in Idaho, I'm not sure if they went before they left ......

Its a 2 bou area, wow.

Actually it's a 5 'Bou area. the caviot is they need to buy the Tags. I think 2 extra 'bou tags (Maybe more) were bought but everyone has at least one.

Aren't bou and mouse hard to find in the same place?

In areas they are, this area in a Bopu migration and a moose area.

Will they move after a while or what?

.. .???? The guys ? No , they hunt out of the same area pretty much. they have a boat to go up and down the Main river and do plan to hike in different areas but in general the Camp will be set. There is a Potential for spike camps......

Its pretty far north, but pretty warm too, according to weather.com. I hope they don't loose the meat. I guess they'll eat it. They might be eating caribou by now, feast or famine, that's what they say a lot. Was there a good scouting report recently?

Warm ? Are you Retarded ? It's Dumping Rain and Highs of 50 with Lows of 36. Thats Awesome weather !!! Looks like temps according to Weather.com are Dropping too....

Man, those guys are hunting today, I wonder how they are doing ....... :D

Yes, Scouting report was partly Moosey with 100% chance of Bou !!!!

If they really can get that many bou's, I guess last day, no moose, they could get another bou and use the moose tags. I thought it was just residents that get that many bou's, but that was a southwest AK unit last year. 50 is warmer than a refrigerator, not good for meat, that kind of warm. Colder, that would be better.

I think it is in the Artic Circle, that's way up there.

YEs, the Moose tag cna Be used for a 'Bou. I'm hoping they don't get that chance !!!!!

50 ISn't that good except they can deliver the Meat after they get it to the local people they are donating it too. and at 40 Deg (Which is what Shade would be) you can Store meat 7 days with no problem.

And Yes, It's up in the Circle.

I'm hoping they are having to use that shower they shipped up to wash off the Blood ;) You think I'm kidding but they have a Shower up there :D

What kind of a shower? One of those plastic bags, that's light, or one with some heat?

I paid about $300 bucks to get my caribou meat back last year, carrying it as baggage, but seemed to loose a lot, it was only in the 40s for a day. I hope they get to eat a lot, they'll gain wait. I hope they have what they need, if they have a shower. Its a nice place to be, I hope they enjoy it and take lots of pictures and get some big caribou! Moose would be icing on the the cake.

Moose is the cake, 'Bou's are the Icing.

Man, those guys are hunting today, I wonder how they are doing .......

I don't see one big one in there???

So, what do you do then? Sit and wait? Spook them, what? Is there a caribou decoy to walk behind? Kind of heavy and kind of dangerous. What would you do?

That looks like the 'bou herds I came Accross :

I think the deal is mostly to sit and Wait. I think T-bone is Tough wnough to Drag around the 1st caribou they shot as a Decoy but I'm not sure he really needs to do that. the Area they are in I thin kthey know were the 'bou come through and they just glass and intercept and pull the trigger.
