Martin he will do it both ways from a pic or from the mind. He will have Fred or me take a pic when we in the woods of the wild life there and he will come home and draw from that pic.

You are doing a great job with your artwork! You already have a great eye for detail and the effects of light to make things look real.

Please give this guy all the encouragement that you can. I could not capture this much realism when I was his age. There can never be too many good wildlife artists. And a good one can make a fortune in doing something that they love.

Good job. I started when I was about 10 drawing, and gave that up when I was 15 and started sculpting. Its much easier to sculpt than draw
