I just got the email with Corey's elk call recommendations, and saw an honorable mention for a wooden bugle tube made by Riven. I've always wondered about lopping the end off of an old trombone and trying to bugle with one of those, and I use a wooden cow call that gets great sound. So I'm not surprised to see these now hitting the market, but wow. Black walnut? That price? How heavy is this? Anyone have experience with one of these? Anyone make their own with a lathe?
I dropped a bugle tube somewhere in the woods that then burned in a forest fire the next year, so I'd be reluctant to spend that much on more future tinder.
