Both. I have some handloaded 170 Hammer Hunters and some factory load hornady. I prefer the hammers for hunting but both loads shoot phenomenal.

175 hornady. Yes I have. Getting 2960 with the hornady and 2984 with the hammer.

Weatherby has ammunition loaded with 177 gr Hammers. I don’t see that bullet on Hammer’s website. The new Barnes 160 gr LRX load sounds good as does the 170 gr Federal Terminal Ascent.

So, I thought the premise of the 7 PRC was to utilize the big heavy for caliber bullets. A 160 Accubond in the 7mm Remington would do the same as those loads. mtmuley

Here is a little 280 AI porn for your evening enjoyment. These are 175 or 180 gr Bergers. I ended up settling on 160 gr Accubonds at just under 3000 fps.

I am close to 3300 with a 140 AH in a 20" barrel, should work.

I bought a 7prc this winter, opportunistic purchase at a good price so I decided to give it a whirl. I don't handload so I rely on factory ammo. Unfortunately the only factory loads with controlled expansion bullets that I could ever find in stock were the Hornady Outfitter 160 gr CX.....and my gun absolutely hated that load lol. I'd love to try the Barnes loads, or Federals terminal ascent, or Remington's CuT, etc, etc, but none of them are ever in stock. That rifle is currently having a 7 Rem Mag barrel spun onto it and all the above mentioned loads plus some others will be at my front door in 5-7 business days . I'm not hating on the merits of the PRC but it does not seem to be a currently viable option for those of us who rely on factory ammo.

Low to Mid 2800 22”, low 2900 in a 24”. Retumbo.

Factory Hornady ammo is whack. They might have a handle on it now.

I’m pushing 168’s at 3150 in a 7rm and 195’s @3170 in a 28. Probably don’t need a 7 but if I did it would be a 20” suppressed with 175-195’s.

Couple family members took the bait.

Internet comparisons are interesting. Nothing strategic in choice of bullets I’m sure. Did Hodgdon wash their 7rm data from their reloading data center or did it never include h1000 or retumbo along with all the new powders for the 7rm?. Strange. Maybe I’m goin nuts.
