.54 caliber patched round ball elk load?

i use 90 grains of ff 777 in my .54 lyman great plains,,though that is for pushing a 425 greatplains conical {1-32 hunter barrel}.beins its .54 cal id try out ff coarser powder,,777 is clean and runs about 10% hotter than goex..experiment and see what the .535 ball likes,,once it starts not grouping well,back it off 10 grains.
 
In my .54 TC New Englander I push a round ball with 90g of FFG Pyrodex. Anything more and it would lessen accuracy. Try a a heavier charge in yours and see it it hold accuracy. Nothing wrong with your load though.
