4th of July......

The President of the club is a sheriff, so he started to get a little nervous after the third flyover. The cop chopper is from Long Beach, and the club is situated in Sheriff's Department jurisdiction, but he was worried about who might be on duty since we all knew that Long Beach was on the horn to the Sheriff's Department. So I guess some of the stuff is being saved for tomorrow night - I'm betting that the Long Beach chopper will be too busy to worry about us on the 4th.....they will have enough going on in their own turf.

I heard someone had an entire pick up bed full of stuff, but that is probably just one of those urban legends.

@ 400 ft2 for a house I don't know how anyone over there can afford to eat let alone buy fireworks ;)

someone needs to be at the ready with the camera.......its a real good chance that there will be a kodak moment with oscar lighting off all those goodies.....
looking forward to the pics!

I've been told that the best way to light them off is with a propane torch on low. You can line up several mortars with the fuses hanging out and sweep the torch's flame slowly past the lined up fuses to set them off in short order sequence.... or so I've been told. It's easier than messing with matches, lighters or punks. At least that is the rumor, anyway. ;)

After 4 years of trying different items, I own now 2 torch's :) He have 3 designated lighters that set off the fireworks so Something is always going on. The first yeat I used a lighter and my thumb looked like it was put through a burn test. Was so bad it scabbed over !!!

Just heard on the news the undercover cops busted a guy here in Lakewood with over 10k pieces of bang boomers. That guy will get one hell of a fine.

My son wanted to bring some bottle rockets over friday to light off... I told him not to bring them. There is a 1k fine for illegal works...

Hope to see some great pics Moosie.

My friend has some sort of fireworks license. I went with him to pic up the fireworks yesterday. It was all 3 inch stuff, 340 shots with the mortors was 1,250. It didn't look as pretty as your stuff, but it sure was loud last nite.

Best in Nampa......BAR NON !!!!!!!

I'm guessing they saw it in surrounding Counties..... Anyone ?

Pictures tomorrow.

I was lucky enough to make it over to the show. All I can say is it was awesome. If you've never been right under those big boys when they go off, you are definetly missing something. The only thing that sucked is the wind shifted and all the burned up chit came failing down on you. I just think that added to the mystique.

Good thing was there were no cops and only about 5 burned kids. And don't ask moose-boy how he did in the egg race this year. The only time I saw him was when I was coming back and he was just getting off of the finish line.:) But I must say he beat me in the cupcake eating contest. Big surprise!!

This chick sounds like a bitch, wonder if she is a transplnt from CA

Nampa Couple Searching for Missing Dog After Neigh ors Light Fireworks
BOISE - NAMPA - Fireworks are fun for the family, but pet owners should be aware they can have the opposite effect on animals. Roger and Patty Kelley of Nampa are desperately searching for their Siberian husky, Missy, who ran away Thursday night after neighbors set off firecrackers.

"After we got home we found a couple bottle rockets sitting in the yard," said Roger Kelley.

Patty Kelley took the day off work to post signs around the city.

"She has a problem with fireworks and how loud the noises are," she said.

The Kelleys say their neighbors saw Missy slide under a fence where traces of her hair are stuck to the wires.

Animal controllers say this upcoming weekend is expected to be their busiest, because dogs tend to get scared and run away.

"We will be full to capacity," said Patricia Baker of the Canyon County Animal Shelter. She says dogs should be kept inside, "Because the noises do scare them a lot. Turn on music, not anything like rock and roll, but soft music."

The Kelleys take Missy with them on vacations, and say they usually make sure to keep her away from fireworks.

Now, they say they'd prefer fireworks be banned before July 4th.

"And only have the one day, because that's what it's supposed to be is just a 4th of July celebration, and people start shooting them off a week or so in advance," said Roger Kelley.

As long as Missy's gone, Patty fears they won't have anything to celebrate this holiday weekend.

"I'm afraid she's run over," she said with tears in her eyes. "I just hope we find her. I want her to come home. I miss her."

The Kelleys say Missy was last seen on Elijah Drive in Nampa at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

If you have any clues, you're asked to call them at 466-2693.
