300 Win Mag + H4831 Powder Charges?

I'm starting some load development for 300 WM with H4831 and 180g Nosler Accubonds. What are some loads people have had success with?

Used to shoot 180 partitions over 74.2 grains of H4831, switched to H1000 and shooting heavier bullets in new rifle. If i recall that was over max recommended charge and was a compressed load, so wouldn't start there.

It’s not exactly the same powder, but I shoot IMR4831 under 200 grain accubonds, or partitions. Charge of 65.2 grains.

I had great accuracy with 75 grains of h4831 and the 180 accubond. That load was at about 2950fps In a Weatherby vanguard and very accurate. Good luck.--R

My 300 likes 72 grains H4831 pushing a 180 grain bullet at around 2900 fps. With that said, I've had better accuracy with IMR4831 out of that same gun.

I use 76 grains of h4831sc under a 165 barnes ttsx. Also use h4831sc under a 200 grain partition I load for my dad. Both shoot quite well, you should have good luck with 4831.

Just bought a 300 too. Found that the most muzzle energy comes from the 168-175 gr bullets. Trying the 168 ttsx, 175 lrx bullets tomorrow. Big Barnes X fan here. Can’t find powder here so limited to three. I will post results tomorrow. Oh tikka t3 lite w- limited edition fluted barrel. SS . Lightest rifle I ever owned so plan on getting the mark of shame between the eyes At least once Until I figure it out. Haha. If it draws blood I will post it But not my entire face so I don’t get recognized.I am 6ft 160 so these big calibers throw me around good. Recently shot a 378wby sitting and it lifted both feet off the ground. Prob shouldn’t be admitting to any of this because the mark of shame is a big fopah where I live.

I have not worked up a load for no lead bullets in my 300, but with that said with Nosler publishes max load for 168 gr bullet @ 74 gr of IMR4831 and 73 gr if you are stepping up to a 175 or 180 gr bullet.
If you are looking to work up a load for those bullets I would start about 4 or 5 grain below max load and in 1 grain increment working up to max see what your gun likes. In my experience, most guns have a load that they shot well while with other loads they are all over the place. Good luck.
