270 win ammo at 1990 prices.

Got it out again today and after shooting some at 200 yards I moved out to 300 for this group. Not sure why it stepped out to the left like that but I'll work on that later. Barrel was getting fairly warm. Drop was about what I had thought and when I dialed my scope up that group was around 2.5 inches low. Pretty close to the chart. Next session I'll break out the handloads and see how they work out.

That 300 yard is even better than your 100 yard target 100 was 1.161moa, 300 is .735moa , even with that outside one. Good shooting.

It doesnt take much wind(less than 5 mph its 90 degrees to the bullet) to move a couple inches that far. Might have been that?

Actually, I did have a little breeze today. About as calm as I could get lately. Report called it at 5 from the north. Right to left on my target. That very well could have moved it a couple inches on me! Hard to get dead calm here. Ok, feeling better about it now. Felt pretty good, anyway! Rifle seems to be a pretty good shooter.

When these came back in stock I grabbed a case to try. Shipped really quick and seems to be under MOA

Will certainly grab more if 243 and 308 sales stock again

What brand of brass is used for these out of curiosity? Any headstamp info? Anyone open them up and try to figure out what the load is (powder and grains)? I might have to grab some of these...

Sig makes their own brass at the Arkansas plant, as far as I can tell it's good quality brass. I weighed 10ea decapped, from two different lots for an average weight of 190.295gr. All were within 1.5% of each other.
At the price they were being sold and the accuracy out of multiple platforms, it's not worth trying to duplicate the load imo.

Yes, after Carl's post I was able to do some research and come to the same conclusion on the brass. Seems to have good reviews!

As for the powder question, I wasn't really interested in duplicating the load. It was more curiosity around potentially reloading those factory loads to lower the ES a little and potentially increase the speed. For the price of the ammo, it's cheaper than buying the components but if for some reason it doesn't shoot well, I'm just thinking ahead.
